The single most important factor in the success of your plastic surgery is the surgeon
that you choose. That is why you need to know about the training and experience of your
plastic surgeon.

cosmetic surgeon. He has been in the field of plastic surgery since 1985 and is Board
Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree
from the University of Rochester and his medical degree from The Mount Sinai
School of Medicine.
During his residency, which was based at St. Luke's- Roosevelt Hospital,
Dr. Studin trained at;
St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center
New York University Hospital
Bellevue Hospital
Lenox Hill Hospital
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Westchester County Medical Center Burn Unit
Interfaith Medical Center
and received a diploma as a Visiting Clinical Fellow from Columbia University
School of Medicine.
To be board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery, a surgeon must complete
an approved residency of at least five years after medical school. That surgeon must then
wait a minimum of two years before sitting for extensive written and oral exams. The board
actually reviews all of the cases done over a 12 month period as part of the examining
process. After completing board certification, a surgeon may then apply for review of his
or her credentials and practice to become a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons,
(FACS). This process can take another two years.
Dr. Studin is both board certified and a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Studin is on staff at North Shore
University Hospital - Glen Cove Division and St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital,
where he participates in training new plastic surgeons. He served as Chief of the
Department of Plastic Surgery of Deepdale Hospital and subsequently at Little
Neck Hospital. He is a member of many national and regional societies. These
include the;
American Medical Association
American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons
American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery
Lipoplasty Society
and has served on two national committees of the Plastic Surgery Educational
Foundation.
Dr. Studin was introduced to Laser Surgery while attending Laser Workshops at Harvard
Medical School in 1985, and has maintained a strong interest in this field ever
since. He is one of very few surgeons to be certified as a preceptor by Coherent, Inc. to
teach Laser Facial Surgery and Laser Eyelift. He has traveled extensively and has taught
over a hundred surgeons these techniques. Surgeons visit his office almost every month to
observe how these procedures are done.
In addition to his Laser expertise, Dr. Studin has professional notoriety in the fields
of breast surgery, liposuction and rhinoplasty. He recently had an International Clinical
Journal publish his opinions regarding optimal techniques for breast enlargement. He is
one of the first surgeons in this country to study the effectiveness of Endermology for
cellulite reduction and to help smooth the skin after large volume liposuction. Dr. Studin
was one of the first surgeons to utilize computer imaging to plan rhinoplasty and one of
the first surgeons to publish articles on the use of computers in plastic surgery!
Dr. Studin has extensive expertise in performing cosmetic plastic
surgery and believes that
'the first step of successful cosmetic surgery is to educate the patient
so that they can decide what is the best course is for themselves.'
If this has been accomplished, the doctor and the patient can then work
together to achieve a successful outcome that they can both be proud of.
