How much fat can be taken with liposuction?

Early liposuction (30 yrs ago) was limited to about 1 liter before fluid and mineral imbalance could occur. With tumescent liposuction, this problem has been greatly reduced. Most experts feel that a liposuction session should not exceed 5 liters.

A liter is 2.2 lbs. While some of what you take out is the saline you put in to create the "tumescent liposuction", this still represents a very significant fat removal!
